Student Sites

Student Blogs:
See what my students are up to in class.

I have my students working on ePortfolios with a couple expected outcomes.  First, they are learning to establish a professional presence on the Internet in order to network professionally and to show off to prospective employers some of the things that they learn in class.  It is one thing to say that you have earned a certification and spent two years in a vocational program.  But, by showcasing their work while they are doing it, shows exactly what students are doing and shows progress over time.  That is awesome!
Also, students learn about social networking and how employers search online to find out more about prospective employees.  With recent high profile news stories, the importance of what you post online should be apparent.
Finally, students are learning about HTML and JavaScript in a fun and engaging way.  Much better than memorizing a list of tags and what they mean.

So take a look at their hard work.  Explore the links they have to their linkedin accounts and YouTube channels.   Reward them by commenting on the posts and rating the sites.  And most of all, check back in!  These are works in progress......
